COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM
Course Objective
Upon completion of the 1600 hour course, students will have demonstrated the knowledge and practical competencies necessary to pass the state licensing examination in cosmetology.

Overview
The Cosmetology curriculum is delivered in two phases. The topics listed below are taught through both the Basic Training and Clinical Training sessions. The Basic Training session includes classroom presentation sand first time hands-on experiences in the practical subjects. Prior to entering the Clinical Training session the student must pass written and practical exams at the 80% level to ensure their preparedness for the Clinic. Students are assigned to the Clinic to achieve the balance of their graduation requirements. This leads to the school’s final exam course. The student must pass the Academy’s final tests as a part of their course completion and graduation requirements and in preparation for the state licensing exam.

It is mandatory that you participate in theory class, unless with a client. Theory test scores and evaluations of class assignments are recorded by subject area. Eighty percent (80%) is the minimum grade necessary to move forward. Practical applications of theory knowledge will also be evaluated. There will be a period of probation until the 80% is achieved.
